They aren’ t a traditional dinner service – small plates are their forte. The neighborhood gathering spot for breakfast, lunch and early dinner. the designer used colors, fabrics and finishes inspired by the thyme herb. They specialize in bringing locally fresh ingredients to the table for dining. After being in their original space for almost 17 years, the owners of Never Enough Thyme asked the design team to design a new location for them located in the newly constructed Alpharetta City Center. Restaurant Holmes gets two thumbs up from Rosemary and me. Plus, we were hungry! Once we arrived I was having second thoughts about where to eat because there were so many choices! We ended up sticking with Restaurant Holmes but plan to go back to try Citizen Soul, Chiringa, Never Enough Thyme, and Carson Kitchen (which appears to be adding a rooftop bar)! I know, I know…why can’t we have these restaurants in Dunwoody? My mother-in-law was visiting this weekend and we headed to downtown Alpharetta after a quick trip to Avalon. There are boutique shops, restaurants, a great lawn, and more! This map from Awesome Alpharetta shows 37 restaurants in downtown Alpharetta alone. But I’m going to guess that most of you have no idea that a mere 1-2 miles from Avalon, downtown Alpharetta has turned in to a lovely haven for shoppers and foodies. I have to believe that a good percentage of our readers have been to Avalon at least once. Gosh, that’s certainly changed….hence the reason for this article! There was nowhere interesting to eat in downtown Alpharetta a mere 4 years ago. Back when I had two baseball playing sons we ended up in Alpharetta ALOT. You never know where you’ll be at meal time on a travel baseball weekend so you learn how to YELP well. I tell you this because travel baseball families eat out ALOT. I’ve traveled all over the state of Georgia watching my sons play baseball.
